The Gillian Purvis Awards
The initial and current focus for Awards is
The Textile Department of The Glasgow School of Art:
Applications, invited annually via the Head of Department, are restricted to the specified department and year of study. Unsolicited applications to the Trust will not be considered.
The prime criteria for selection for an award are:
- quality of work
- potential
- how the student might use the award and develop
- need for financial assistance, a priority

An Award might
- help provide materials essential to mount the applicant's degree show
- allow the student to cut-down on extracurricular work, releasing valuable research and studio time
- help fund research
- give general support during a frugal student year
